Don't Forget:

To check the events section at the top of the home page.

The Official opening of the Exhibition and presentation of
awards was held on Saturday 10th January 2009 at:

Mansfield Museum & Art Gallery, Leeming Street,
Mansfield, Nottinghamshire NG18 1NG.

Prints will be on display for four weeks until Saturday 7th February 2009. Opening times: 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Saturday.

Despite the reduction in the number of entries per section, we have in excess of 2500 entries with over 1200 prints and 1300 projected images entered by 277 authors.   Natural History prints are now a separate section.

Slide and digital merge, with two projected image sections, open and nature.   There is a major reduction in slides, compensated by the increase in digital, It is sad that we have fewer slide workers, but we do move forward, who knows what lies ahead with future technology.   The accepted images are just over 19% of the total entries, within a very small margin of last year’s totals, in fact just four less over the whole entry.

Thanks go to all our selectors for their hard work and dedication, both days going smoothly.   I also thank all helpers during selection and behind the scene workers, all contributing time and effort to this Exhibition. I must especially thank Peter and Carol Cheetham for so much effort over the years and also to David Gibbins for his proof reading.

I hope the pictures selected for this Exhibition give you pleasure and perhaps a little inspiration. If they do please tell your friends and encourage them to visit the Exhibition, view the projected images show and point them in the direction of this website.

Once again a Colour Catalogue has been produced, supported by our advertisers and sponsors. A limited number of copies of this Catalogue will be available at the Museum & Art Gallery. Each year the costs of the exhibition increase and every purchase helps the Federation.

It is pleasing to have clubs entering for the first time but a little disappointing a few have missed out. Having said that forty out of forty-seven is pretty good; come on you members in the other seven clubs. Every club will be showing our projected image show. Comments can be emailed following your club showing (details below).

I again appeal to members in clubs who did not enter, and continued support from you all for our next Annual Exhibition in 2010. Closing date will be late October and Rules and entry forms will be issued during September 2009, which gives plenty of time for everyone in all clubs affiliated to the Federation to enter.

To have all clubs represented would be great.
